COACH JUAN
Head Instructor - Fight & Grappling Programs
Managing Director, 6IX Krav Maga Inc.
Juan is a Colombian mixed martial artist and light-heavyweight competitor with a deep passion for the fight game. With a strong foundation in MMA, he's also sharpened his skills in specialized boxing, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gyms across Colombia - giving him a well-rounded edge inside the cage and on the mats.
He sees combat sports not just as competition, but as a vehicle for personal growth - physically and mentally. That perspective carries into how he coaches, how he connects with students, and how he approaches the discipline day-to-day.
Education & EXPERIENCE:
Standing at 6'3 and competing at 205 lbs, he holds an amateur record of 7-0-1, with all seven wins coming by finish - 4 by submission and 3 by TKO - showing composure and efficiency under pressure.
Since 2022, Juan has been coaching at 6IX Krav Maga, where he brings key elements from combat sports that directly support the gym's self-defense mission. His experience under full-contact conditions shapes how he teaches control, pressure, timing and a finishing instinct - all of which reinforce a practical and effective self defense mindset.
Whether working with beginners or experience fighters, Coach Juan believes in meeting each student where they are - creating a space where they feel supported, challenged and motivated to grow.
"Everyone moves at their own pace. The best kind of training happens when you enjoy it - so push yourself, lend a hand, and remember we're all here to learn."
